Mermaids Scuba Diving Internships - The Original Scuba dive internship programs
Mermaids Scuba Dive Center Pattaya, Thailand have been offering the all-inclusive scuba diving internship programs since 1999 - the original internships. With a host of experience in this area Mermaids CDC (PADI Career Development Center) offer recreational dive internships, professional scuba instructor and divemaster training and further education.
The programs cater for divers that wish to be the best recreational diver possible to those that wish to hold scuba diving jobs and start a dive career. The professional packages come with good scuba dive jobs support. However, if professional diver or pleasure diver once a member of the Mermaid's team - always a member.

PADI Master Scuba Diver (PADI MSD) internship |

The PADI Master Scuba Diver is operated over 2 months. Mermaids can receive divers that are already certified or non-certified for this program. A PADI Master Scuba Diver is the highest recreational diver status that can be held. To become a PADI MSD the diver must hold the PADI open Water, Advanced, EFR, Rescue and 5 PADI Specialty Courses and a minimum of 50 dives. Mermaids offer more with the unlimited diving, DAN O2, National Geographic Diver and EFR Care for Children also. FUll equipment and materials to keep and accommodation for 2 months is supplied. |

PADI Dive Master Internship (PADI DM) |

The first professional diver level of Dive Master can be taken at Mermaids as the 'straight course' or as an internship. This page dedicates to those that wish to intern as a divemaster and gain excellent skills, dive training and experience in order to be able to work in diving. The divemaster program is fully inclusive of accommodation and equipment and materials to keep. If you are a non diver or already certified - the internship can be taken to make you dive employable. PADI Divemaster - Instructor (DM-OWSI) Internship |

For the PADI professional dive masters many like to upgrade. Essentially the PADI Divemaster needs to take the PADI IDC and IE to make them an instructor. Over the years Mermaids have seen that the DM-OWSI intyernships offer the most complete and best way to enter the IDC for best first time results. 2 months accommodation, full training, a lot of focus on rescue. PADI Instructor Internship |

The PADI Instructor rating is the corner stone of a solid scuba diving career. Those that wish to gain dive jobs and work full time in sucba diving usually begin as an OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor). Since 1999 the diving instructor internships have been cutting edge with many non-standard courses included (as standard) to make the diver the most employable diver possible. The dive in structor training programs are fully inclusive of all accommodation, materials, new dive equipment to keep, fees to PADI, 5 Specialty courses, National Geographic Diver, EFRI, DAN O2 and Full face mask, unlimited diving and much more. PADI MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer) & PADI Staff Instructor Internship |
|
Many divers that have been professionally trained, learned well and have gone out with professioanl and pro-active acttitude can gain dive jobs from that level. Other new open water scuba instructors might like to gain a little scuba teaching experience and gain a few more pro dive qualifications prior to going out to work. The MSDT package takes an OWSI and certifies them to teach in 5 different PADI specialty areas - these can be specialty areas such as Nitrox, Deep, Night or Wreck Diving - there are many to choose from. Some divers opt to take more PADI Specialty Instructor ratings which is not a bad thing. The more you can teach the more attractive you are to any dive employer. As well as specialty instructor ratings the divers gains live experience in teaching dive students. The diver will initially work with a PADI Course Director and or Master Instructor and then left to teach alone - 25 certifications.
Some divers like to go even further with the PADI staff Instructor rating making them attractive to IDC and Career Development Centers. Once at the Staff instructor level the pro diver gains their first taste of dive instructor training by assisting a Course Director conduct and audit an IDC (Instructor Development Course).

BMT - Scuba Dive Center Business Management Training |
|
Mermaid’s Dive Centers comprehensive dive resort business management program exposes the dive professional to the skills and business principles needed to operate a successful PADI Five Star Dive Center or PADI Gold Palm Resort. Taking skills already learned from the professional level dive training now the diver gains the expertise to become a dive resort operations specialist. During the dive center management training, divided into unique and informative modules, Mermaids Dive Center will introduce you to every aspect of the scuba dive industry.
